Winner of the very first Michel Legrand Award, Florencia Di Concilio is an essential figure in film music, in France and abroad. Her work is praised by critics : "delicate, disturbing, ethereal," writes the Los Angeles Times regarding Gonzalo Arijon's Stranded (official selection at Sundance), her "music raises the emotions" in Dark Blood (official selection at Berlinale), according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Télérama ranked her music for Calamity, a Childhood of Martha Jane Cannary (directed by Remi Chayé - Best Feature Film at Annecy International Animation Festival) among the 15 best original soundtracks of the decade. According to Florencia, the essence of a creative collaboration is the symbiosis of two creators’ visions: the filmmaker and the composer. She sounds intimate on The Super 8 Years (Cannes Festival - Director’s Fortnight 2022), directed by Nobel Prize winner Annie Ernaux and her son David, hellish on The Five Devils (Cannes Festival - Critic’s Week 2022) by Léa Misyus, or anxiety-inducing on Grand Espectations by Sylvain Desclous and the Trial 4 Netflix series. More recently, Florencia Di Concilio scored Isabelle Brocard's Madame de Sévigné, starring Karin Viard, as well as an original composition for the posthumous film by British director Terence Davies, with whom she had already collaborated on his film Passing Time.
In 2025, feature films Le Système Victoria by Sylvain Desclous and L'effacement by Karim Moussaoui will be released and Florencia has just completed the score for the Diego Cespedés’ Le mystérieux regard du flamant rose, Grand Prix of the official selection Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2025, and Soulèvements directed by Thomas Lacoste.
She is currently renewing her collaboration with Rémi Chayé on his next animated film Fleur and with Léa Mysius for the adaptation of Histoires de la nuit, brought to life by an exceptional cast: Hafsia Herzi, Monica Bellucci, Benoît Magimel, and Bastien Bouillon. Florencia Di Concilio's symphonic works were performed by prestigious orchestras. Among others : the Brussels Philharmonic, the Miami Symphony Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Orchestra of Uruguay. She has been working with visual artists such as Camille Henrot and Edgar Honetschläger, and contemporary dance companies in Europe and America.
