Thomas Couzinier is a French composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose work is driven by a deep commitment to sonic experimentation. His music spans expansive orchestral, electronic, and hybrid sound worlds, encompassing original scores for film and television as well as contemporary art installations. His most notable credits include INFINITI, Black Spot (Zone Blanche)—which earned him and his former collaborator Frédéric Kooshmanian the FIPA d'Or for Best Original Score in 2017—and Les Sentinelles, all directed by Thierry Poiraud, alongside The Shiny Shrimps(Les Crevettes Pailletées), Guyane (Season 2), The Translator (Le Traducteur), King of Shadows (Le Roi des Ombres), and the acclaimed animated science-fiction thriller Renaissance. Most recently, he completed the original score for Antoine Blossier's feature film K.O., which has amassed more than 50 million views on Netflix, and composed the music for the animated short film series Ninjago Legends, produced by LEGO. As a composer, sound designer, and creative director, he has collaborated with a wide range of internationally renowned filmmakers, artists, and creators, including Mathieu Kassovitz, Taika Waititi, Future, Jonathan Cohen, Matthijs van Heijningen, Tony Allen, and H5.

Thomas studied Acoustics and Signal Processing before earning a Master of Arts in Sound and Composition from the School of Media and Communication at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). His years in Australia also enabled him to develop extensive expertise in surround and binaural audio technologies. He has since given masterclasses and lectures at institutions including the European Institute for Music Professions (ITEMM) in Le Mans, SODA at the University of Manchester, the Philharmonie de Paris, and the University of San Diego.

Beyond his work for the screen, Thomas co-founded Battery Operated with long-time collaborator Toby Heys, an experimental electronic duo exploring immersive and experiential sound. Performing internationally, they have shared stages with artists such as Plaid, Coldcut, Arca, Kode9, and Clark at festivals and concert venues around the world. Their sound installations have also been presented in numerous contemporary art centres and galleries. More recently, the duo reunited for the double album by AUDINT, a multidisciplinary collective project released through Boomkat.

Thomas Couzinier lives and works in Paris, where he carefully maintains an enviable collection of fuzz pedals while continuing to indulge his passion for garage rock, fuelled in part by his one-man band, Night Shapers.
